Vani Balabaskaran, CPA, LPA, B.Comm

With over 20 years of experience in public practice, Vani joined the firm in July 2023, as the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance and Education.  From humble beginnings as a co-op student at University of Toronto, she received her CGA (currently CPA) designation in 2006.  Before joining the firm, she worked in a few small to medium-sized firms providing accounting and assurance services to a wide variety of privately held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. In the last few years, she has shifted her focus to quality management, financial statement review, and research of complex topics in Accounting and Assurance standards.

Vani has been an active CPA mentor from its inception, coaching numerous mentees and supporting other mentors with training.

She is also actively involved with two Christian registered charities, where she serves as a director.  Recently, she joined the Accounting Standards Board’s Small Practitioners Working Group to gain better insight into the Standard setting process.  In her spare time, she enjoys singing and playing guitar.
